It's hard to beat grilled shrimp for a tasty and fast meal. These simple recipes are a bit unusual, but it'll cause the taste buds to tingle with delight

The first shrimp recipe is a bit unusual because it actually incorporates BBQ sauce as the main ingredient. Normally BBQ sauce is not used in grilling until the dish is almost finished. The main reasoning is that BBQ sauce will burn after a few minutes over a hot flame, ruining the meal. Shrimp however cooks very quickly and incorporating BBQ sauce with the shrimp actual leaves a bit of a glaze that’s delicious.

The second recipe incorporates butter as the main ingredient. The taste and texture of the cooked shrimp is similar to butterflied shrimp recipes with butter but much less of a hassle and much quicker. The finished shrimp has a nice golden coloring with a bit of a crisp texture that’s absolutely scrumptious.

The directions for both recipes call’s out for peeled shrimp. Unpeeled shrimp is acceptable but the shrimp is much more flavorful peeled. If unpeeled shrimp is preferred, adjust cooking time accordingly.

Serving Suggestions

Either shrimp recipe goes great with a variety of other meats. A great steak always goes good with these two shrimp recipes. If serving the shrimp as the main course, try it with some rice pilaf or pasta with a nice grilled vegetable. With most seafood a Hefeweizen is the preferred brew and with the butterflied grilled shrimp a Hefeweizen would a good pairing. With the BBQ infused shrimp a hoppy pale ale would be a good pairing.
